When many "underground" bands release an album, it is often ignored during it's initial time of release and sent directly to the bargain bin of some struggling record store. It's not until many years after the album's release (and very often, the breakup of the band that made it) that people finally begin to give it the appreciation that it deserves. Several albums like this spring to mind: The Velvet Underground & Nico, Marquee Moon, Suicide. Over recent years, another album has been added into this illustrious pantheon: Spiderland by Slint.
